T-0 Pioneers

T-0 is the annual showcase of work from the graduating class of Berkeley MDes.

T-0 refers to the final countdown of launching a rocket, signaling the metaphorical launch of the graduating cohort into the real world.

Each year, the showcase committee selects a unique theme for the branding of the exhibit. For this initial showcase of T-0, the chosen theme is “Pioneers”. Representing the inaugural cohort of the program, the theme highlights the first expedition of MDes as a design program. The theme references the pioneer plaque and the historical pioneers of the Wild West. It describes the journey and mission of the first MDes cohort, who have successfully navigated through the obstacles of shaping a brand new master’s program amidst a global pandemic. They are now ready for lift off!
