MDes Student Jennifer Wong Wins Microsoft’s Hack for Mental Health Award

Congratulations to Jennifer Wong (MDes Fall ’22), whose startup, Empathie, is the recent recipient of Microsoft’s “Hack for Mental Health” award.

Empathie is a self-guided mobile app that delivers affordable, clinical-grade, and easily accessible mental wellness content and tools for racial minorities. On-demand and bite-sized videos make mental health approachable and are taught by licensed therapists who are people of color.

With the award, Jennifer will receive one on one time and mentorship with Microsoft’s Accessibility Leaders, a package of Microsoft goods and technology, and $5,000 of Azure credit to further the advancement of her project.
