MDes Student Cohort


“The cohort and the group of people we have put together is dynamite and I expect it will be like a chemical reaction.  It will be exciting to see what happens when you get together!” Kyle Steinfeld, Associate Director, MDes. 


We are pleased to highlight the profiles of the MDes Student Cohort and share our excitement for the diverse backgrounds and dynamic experiences each student brings to the MDes program. 

As an overview, this cohort is 42% men and 58% women with experience in a diverse range of fields and practices including architecture, cognitive science, computer science, design, engineering, entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary studies and mathematics. With an international population of 55%, this cohort represents seven different countries including China, India, Korea, Germany, Greece, Oman, and Mexico. Ethnic diversity among the US students is Asian Indian (6%), Black/African American (3%), Chinese/Chinese-American (12%), Korean/Korean American (6%), Japanese/Japanese American (3%), Mexican/Mexican American/Chicano (3%),  and White (12%).
