Subin Lee

Bio

Hello, I am Subin. I have been working as a full-stack software engineer at a tech company in South Korea.

Through my double degree in Art & Technology and Computer Engineering, I gained a deep understanding of both users and technology. This shaped my view of emerging technology as a creative tool to address real-world challenges faced by marginalized groups. Therefore, I have applied various emerging technologies such as AI and VR/AR to enhance equity and accessibility. For example, I researched ways to improve voice separation model performance for minor languages, enhancing their usability across speech-related technologies. I also worked to create VR spaces where people with physical limitations can enjoy activities they cannot in the real world.

During the MDes program, I aim to question how current technology development is centered around the majority and to redesign inclusivity for all individuals. I plan to continue learning new technologies, cultivate creative ideation, and foster effective collaboration with my MDes peers.

My favorite thing to do is get a cup of iced coffee in the morning and plan my day at a cafe. In my free time, I love to get out of town to go scuba diving or skiing.
