Hanna Gabriella Khoury

Bio

I am a Palestinian-Lebanese-American, and prior to my undergraduate studies, I lived in Kuwait and Greece. In 2020, I received a BA in Physics from Wellesley College, and concurrently earned a Certificate in Engineering from Olin College. I went on to receive an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. I have had the opportunity to work in diverse industries, including medical devices, robotics, food processing design, and system health monitoring.

In the MDes program, I hope to develop a stronger foundation in the creative, human-centered design approach, where I can apply my skills in developing innovative, cost-effective, sustainable design solutions.

At my core, I am a maker, a designer, and a tinkerer. I enjoy learning new skills to be able to design and create any wild idea I come up with, from the fiber arts, to creating new recipes, painting, and jewelry design.

Building and connecting with community and fostering spaces to educate about and participate in my cultural practices is important to me. I was a dancer in the Boston Dabke Troupe for four years, where we led community workshops and performed at university events. I also participated and led the Wellesley Arab Women’s Association during my undergrad.
