Bio
Hello, my name is Jiawen. After graduating from Harvard and practicing landscape architecture for five years, my passion for bridging environmental design with emerging technologies led me to the MDes program.
Throughout my career, I have been deeply intrigued by how the environment that transcends human scale can have a profound impact on people. Beyond conventional environmental design theories and methods, my goal is to develop new technologies that enhance environmental experiences, particularly in terms of inclusiveness, public health, and social equity. In the program, I am also interested in exploring topics such as digital well-being and HCI.
Before the MDes program, I also worked as a product design manager in a tech company for a carbon footprint management product. Outside the studio, I enjoy traveling, retro gaming, and learning languages. I also create multimedia artworks. My previous works have been exhibited in the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Museum of Craft and Design.
