Bio

Hi! I’m Vivian Lu, a visual and interactive artist from Shanghai, with a BA in art history and visual arts from Barnard College.
I have always been curious about alternate realities—what if I lived in a different world, a different time, or as someone else? I am drawn to fiction, film, anime, theme parks, and theatre—anything that let me immerse myself in imagined experiences. The curiosity led me to experiment filmmaking, writing, acting, and stage design. I felt a growing urge to create more intimate and interactive ways of storytelling—experiences that blur the boundary between reality and fiction. This urge brought me to this program.
