Bio
Hi! I’m Lauryn, and I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. My intellectual curiosity, analytical nature, and passion for problem-solving led me to earn my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech, but I also sustain a deep connection to creativity. Whether it’s drawing, crocheting, editing videos, scrapbooking, or calligraphy, I find joy in the creative process. I fostered these interests and developed a love for design during my undergraduate studies, while completing my industrial design minor. As an MDes scholar, I aim to merge these passions by developing meaningful technological solutions.
My background as an undergraduate tutor, 4th-grade substitute teacher, and STEM instructor for high schoolers has fueled my commitment to education and accessibility. As an Arcus Social Justice Fellow, I look forward to enhancing accessible technology and fostering thoughtful learning environments for students and educators alike.
In my free time, I also enjoy volleyball, learning new languages, ping pong, and board games!
