Amanda McGraw

Bio

Hi! My name is Amanda and I grew up in Orange County, NY. I graduated from Binghamton University with my BS in industrial and systems engineering (ISE) and spent my undergrad as a diver on the swim and dive team. Growing up a gymnast, ISE felt like a good transitional field of study since it also valued balance. I developed an interest in UX/UI design through my experiences interacting with different cultures. While I grew a deep fascination in human factors, I became aware of the importance of diversity in the STEM field. I want to gain a broader awareness to innovate for human-centered and sustainable design. Through my interactions within the MDes program, I hope to incorporate the perspectives of my peers to collectively build upon our passions.

What are you most looking forward to in the MDes program?

I am most looking forward to learning through the experience of my peers to develop a holistic perspective while studying at UC Berkeley.
