Benal Johnson

Bio

I’m an industrial designer passionate about inclusion, inclusive design, and creating equitable experiences. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Design in 2018 from Carnegie Mellon University, concentrating in Industrial Design. I’m deeply passionate about using design, and specifically industrial design, to create social impact and change. I believe that truly inclusive, thoughtful, and environmentally responsible design can transform the shared futures of humanity for the better.

Outside of work, my passions circle around making and nature: I love camping and hiking with friends, woodworking, and sketching.

What are you most looking forward to in the MDes program?

I’m most looking forward to the opportunity to do research into creating a more inclusive world through design and also connecting with my peers to learn from their experiences.
