Bio

Hey everyone! My name is Emily, and I just graduated from University of California, Irvine with a BS in Cognitive Science and a minor in Informatics. This background compounded into an interest in learning how to apply psychological concepts to building intuitive and universally accessible interfaces. I previously worked in a research lab where I focused on redesigning the website teachers used to access the computational thinking curricula our team specifically developed for low-income, minority communities.

I am thrilled to join the interdisciplinary MDes program where I hope to merge my passion for psychology and design with the hands-on engineering facets to build educational technology that can help address systemic barriers and bridge the socioeconomic gap. During my free time, you can most likely find me checking out local coffee shops, attempting new recipes, or working out (recently been into pilates and kickboxing)!
