Jan-Simon Veicht

Jan-Simon Veicht is a design strategist and educator working at the intersection of emerging technology, entrepreneurship, and industrial design. He is Director of the Design Strategy team at NewDealDesign, a San Francisco-based studio shaping impactful brands, products, and experiences across consumer and commercial markets.

With over 15 years of experience across luxury, consumer tech, and mobility, Jan has led strategic design initiatives for global brands including Leica, Xiaomi, Stellantis, Calvin Klein, and JLL. He is also deeply engaged in the startup ecosystem—mentoring early-stage ventures and serving as Head of Industrial Design at Berkeley-based Moon Five Technologies, where he’s helping democratize EV charging for renters across the U.S.

Jan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and earned his Master of Design in Emerging Technologies from UC Berkeley. He teaches design and innovation as a lecturer at Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET).
