Joyce Kung

Bio

Hi! I’m Joyce (she/her/they/them), a designer, illustrator, and Moss Girl born and raised in the Bay Area! I went to California College of the Arts for my BFA in Industrial Design. For the past decade I’ve worked in design teams for corporate, mid-sized, and startup companies and have done design work for Speck Products, Pottery Barn, and Kohler.

I’m invested in emerging and future technologies as a way to understand how we as humans do things–what systems we create, who has access to them, and why. I’m deeply curious if we can truly achieve ethical and transparent AI usage and am interested in exploring it further.

In my free time I like drinking coffee, running TTRPGs, playing with my two cats, and making unhinged ice cream flavors!

(side note: A Moss Girl is the antithesis of a “boss girl”, and represents a person of any gender who aspires for the slower enjoyment of life and connection to nature.)
