MDes2023

Kabeer Andrabi

Bio

I am a UX Designer who loves crafting experiences that solve complex problems and deliver intuitive solutions. I aim at using design as a medium to create an inclusive society that recognizes creative talent around the world. Before MDes, I worked as a UX designer at a travel technology firm, Amadeus, where I designed digital experiences for over 30,000 airline agents of leading airline carriers, including Air Canada, Southwest, and Etihad. Alongside, I have been working towards preserving the heritage crafts of Kashmir by providing the local handicrafts artisans a space where they can connect with global designers and art enthusiasts all over the world.

I studied engineering, a program that gave me a perfect start to foresee the tectonic shift in the technological landscape around me. In the process of designing automated control systems and building different algorithms, I realized the immense impact technology has in bridging the gap and moving towards an equitable world.

I come from a beautiful and picturesque valley of Kashmir, and I find my peace in nature (sitting amidst a forest, reading poetry, or listening to music). I love skiing, trekking, horse riding, rowing, and pretty much everything that gets my adrenaline high! I also enjoy meeting new people, learning about new cultures, trying different cuisines, volunteering, and cracking lame jokes (sometimes)! XD

What are you most looking forward to in the MDes program?

Honestly, each and every bit of it – from understanding the true essence of design to working alongside an amazing group of diverse, yet like-minded people with a common motive to grow together.
