Bio

Hi, my name is Mercedes, I am an Industrial Designer from Guadalajara, México. During college I was a dancer in a Mariachi folk group. I had the opportunity to visit 13 countries in 6 international tours where I shared my traditions and culture.

I also had a semester abroad in Chile. Where I learned different techniques to work with paper, which led me to start a sketchbook brand for creative minds. The mission was to introduce non-experts to art to become part of the creative word.

After graduation, I worked in the development of plastic enclosures for tech devices and the design of cast of molds for pieces across the aerospace and transportation industry. Last year I took a course in UXD, and since then I am interested in the convergence of physical products and digital interfaces.

Recently, I moved to the Bay Area and I am looking for my next adventure (aka MDes in UC Berkeley!)

I am most looking forward to collaborating with talented creative people from different disciplines and backgrounds! I want to learn and understand different types of technology and create applications that entertain, educate, and connect people.
