Xiangruo (Reina) Li

Bio

My name is Xiangruo (Reina) Li and I am from the Bay Area. I graduated from Pratt Institute in NYC with a bachelor in Interior Design with a minor in Sustainability Studies and Fashion Design. I have worked as a UX/UI designer, sustainability researcher as well as an interior designer. In my past work and research, I focused on producing Equity-Centered Design while increasing engagement between users and their living environment. In design, I specifically investigated the use of modular structure in order to increase flexibility of a product or space in order to accommodate a larger audience. I also worked as a researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on maximizing energy savings by grouping energy retrofits for the Kirk neighborhood in Fresno CA.

In the MDes program, I am looking forward to continuing my design philosophy and focus on creating inclusive design with the use of multi-sensory technologies especially in the wearable/product industry. Outside of my academic studies, I also love yoga, hiking, traveling, fashion and exploring good restaurants in the Bay and beyond.
