Yanyi Mai

Bio

My name is Yanyi. I studied art and design here at Cal and graduated in Spring 2019. During my time here at Berkeley, I was actively involved in design clubs and worked as a UI designer for Berkeley Mobile and with numerous organizations and startups from the Bay Area.

Shortly after my graduation, I moved to China and worked as a UI/UX designer at tech companies there and specialized in designing for B2B SaaS products such as HRM, CRM, and OA systems.

During my free time, I am a big hiking and baking enthusiast. I am caught in either the mountains or woods hiking or the kitchen baking and cooking. I also enjoy reading and working out at the gym.

What are you most looking forward to in the MDes program?

I am excited to hone my technical skills in design engineering, as well as having discourses over different design disciplines, ethics, and outlook and prospect of our practice. Looking forward to collaborating with my MDes peers from various disciplines and realizing wild but applicable ideas into tangible products!
