Eleanor Mayes (MDes FA22) has just been awarded an Arcus Social Justice Corp (ASJC) Fellowship!

The ASJC is a new fellowship program in the College of Environmental Design that offers significant debt-relief to select graduate students who intend to do social justice work after graduation.  The ASJC seeks to attract students with the most potential to make direct and transformational social change in the world through planning, research, and design. This program especially aims to empower students who want to make tangible change in vulnerable communities after graduation.

This fellowship is the first award of its kind to honor students dedicated to pursuing social justice in their work and careers. Social justice is at the core of the MDes program and reflects our values as a community. We believe it is not just what the program needs but what our world needs. The MDes is honored to have Eleanor Mayes receive this award and exemplify our commitment to the importance of using design to make a difference and contribution to others.

The next award cycle invites applications from students who are applying to a CED Master’s program for Fall 2022. MDes students who are U.S. Citizens, have permanent residence, or have DACA or refugee status are eligible and encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2022.
