Nimble Spaces, co-founded by Roland Saekow (MDes 22), Titus Ebbecke (MDes 22), Lu Liu (MBA 21), Yifeng Wang (MArch 21), and Yue(Abby) Gao (MArch 21), was accepted into the Berkeley SkyDeck HotDesk Program as part of its Fall 2020 cohort. Nimble Spaces was one of 98 companies chosen from 1,850 applications.
Berkeley SkyDeck is UC Berkeley’s premier startup accelerator and incubator program that supports startups founded by UC Berkeley students who seek to bring their discoveries to market. As part of the HotDesk program, Nimble Spaces joins a cohort of 150 members and has access to workshops and events, advisors and in-kind resources offered by SkyDesk’s resource partners.
The story of Nimble Spaces started in April 2020 when the co-founders met at a hackathon sponsored by EDF Innovation Lab and organized by InnoDays and Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC).
In the past six months, their award-winning project, the design of rentable modular outdoor spaces, has been gaining recognition for its inspirational solution for safe dining and gathering space during COVID-19. In September, the team received funding to incorporate and built their first location at Momo Ramen in Oakland.
As part of the Berkeley SkyDeck HotDesk incubator program, this ambitious team will be well supported to take Nimble Spaces to the next level!
