Bio

I am a senior Industrial Design student with a sustainability minor from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy going through the design process and creating engineering-focused design that’s human-centered, practical, and ethical to our society. I would like to use my artistic, design and engineering skills to improve people’s lives physically and spiritually. During the past years of studying Industrial Design and working with the artists, designers and engineers, I’ve found myself deeply interested in exploring the engineering and technology aspects within my designs.

I have studied in five schools under Chinese, British, Canadian and American education systems. At the age of 14, I left home for a British boarding school. At the age of 16, I went to Vancouver and lived with my host family for continuing my high school study. At the age of 18, I came to New York to study at Pratt Institute. The experience of studying in the different education systems and living in the different places has given me multicultural perspectives. Moving and adapting to a new environment have kept challenging and strengthening me. I enjoy exploring new things and starting new adventures.

What are you most looking forward to in the MDes program?
