MDes Students Are Honored at SF Design Week Awards!

Five Berkeley MDes students and their teams have been honored with a prestigious San Francisco Design Week Award by the nonprofit organization San Francisco Design Week (SFDW).
These projects are recognized by these awards for their ground-breaking design and commitment to thought leadership in meeting the needs of a positive future for society.
- Prana, a multi-patient ventilator, by Abhi Ghavalkar (MDes SP22), Mercedes Saldana (MDes SP22), and Peipei Lin (MDes SP22) and their multi-national team, was selected as winner of the Social Impact category.
- Smell Revived, by Yuting Wang (MDes FA22) and her collaborator was selected as winner of the AR/VR/XR category.
- Euphemia, by Deborah (Debbie) Yuen (MDes FA22) was selected as Wild Card winner.
San Francisco Design Week (SFDW) Design Awards is an international design competition seeking to encourage thought leadership by supporting designers whose works can contribute towards a positive future for society. The Design Awards celebrates and recognizes exemplary work in all fields of design, including architecture, interior design, industrial design, communication design, and user experience design.
Twenty-five winning projects and seven honorable mentions were selected by a jury comprised of distinguished professionals, who reviewed submissions from an exceptionally competitive pool of applicants from USA and Europe.
